Held in Barcelona since 2011, Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) is the world’s leading event for cities. Its mission is to drive sustainable urban development and foster global collaboration by connecting cities, sharing innovative solutions, and promoting collective urban innovation to create better, more inclusive cities for all.

A detail about the project
Art direction and construction of the congress areas, stages and common spaces. The brief was a city, and we built one entirely from cardboard: every structure, stage and façade in 100% honeycomb board, chosen to cut the footprint of a temporary build at this scale. Stacked into skylines, arches and towers, the board turned the halls into an inhabitable urban landscape, while bold geometry, flat colour and a pictographic language translated each theme into space. Sustainability wasn’t a layer. It was the structure itself.
